From 2-4 September INTA organised in Lisbon, Portugal, an international Design Workshop on "Vertical Mobility: towards a global mobile experience".
INTA is grateful to the local organisers in particular Fernando Nunes da Silva, Deputy Mayor of Lisbon in charge of Mobility, Branca Neves and the technical departments of the Municipality who put in a lot of personal efforts to make this event an inspiring moment. Several enterprises such as Otis, Liftech, ThyssenKrupp, Eiffage and Novotel contributed not only in kind but also with innovative technical inputs. INTA members from France, United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, United States of America and Portugal joined the event as speakers. The participation of some fifty planners, architects, operators, technologists and municipal technicians during the three-day event was a rewarding outcome. The interactive format, the quality of the technical visit, the intensity of the discussions enabled everyone to intervene in the debates and share their experiences. The warm and culinary Portuguese hospitality added a cultural touch to an otherwise highly technical debate.
The various presentations the Design Workshop are published on INTA website if you are interested in a fuller account with case studies from participants and illustrations.
