I heard with sadness the death of Henry CHABERT, which occurred on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
A man of culture, I remember his speech at the last congress of INTA in Lisbon, on the place of this one in the city.
I keep in memory the eloquence, the elegance of thought and especially the expressed humanism. I also remember his loyalty to his commitments but also his openness to dialogue and debate. He, Vice President of Greater Lyon and I, Mayor of Vaulx en Velin, shared many audacities and even utopias to face difficult times. One of his personality traits was fraternity, this value that allows beyond the differences to live together and to share.
Our links have continued within the International Urban Development Association, INTA, of which he is Honorary President.
On my own behalf, on behalf of the Governing Board and the International Secretariat of INTA, I extend my sincere condolences to his family and relatives.
