MOOCAfricaIHSThe IHS, Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam, is launching on the 24th September their first MOOC on "Planning for Climate Change in African Cities"

IHS is an education, advisory and research institute, which educates urban professionals with diverse backgrounds, consult national and local governments from the Global South, and engage in cutting-edge urban research. Working with their partners at the forefront of urban development, they aims to bring real-life experience back in the classrooms.

As part of a series of MOOCs, massive online open courses, on development on African cities, they are offering this 5 week long MOOC, "Planning for Climate Change in African Cities", developed in collaboration with the African Local Government Academy (ALGA) and the United Cities and Local Government of Africa, UCLG.

The course provides the foundation for understanding cities’ exposure and sensitivity to climate change, and how cities can manage these impacts in the face of growing uncertainty, with illustrative case studies. It is free for everyone.
