Modi’In is now a Reality

Modi’In is now a Reality

Nine years ago I stood in front of you and spoke about a dream. Myself and my colleagues had been day dreaming about a new city nestled in the Judean Hills. We named it after ancient Modi'in, the birthplace of the Maccabees who fought for the values of pluralism and freedom of thought. My presentation then was following the National Planning Commission's formal approval of the City with a capacity for 250,000 residents. Even so it was no more than a dream. Already there are 49,000 people residing in Modi'in, in fully serviced neighbourhoods complete with schools, kindergartens, parks, and all essential services. An additional 10,000 housing units are under construction.
