Mr. Paul Jeffrey

Born in Walsall, a traditional industrial town in the English West Midlands, Paul has dedicated most of his working life to analyzing urban development issues. As a director of ECORYS UK (formerly ECOTEC) and head of the companies regeneration and economic development division Paul has managed studies that range from the international to the local. He is the principle author of the recently published Evaluation of the Urban Community Initiative 2000-2006 for the European Commission and previously contributed to the State of European Cities report that reviewed urban trends across Europe based on data from the Urban Audit. In 2009 he was co-author of a report published by the Chartered Institute of Housing (UK) Transforming Estates, that examined the progress of the regeneration of four run down housing estates. Paul has evaluated local area based initiatives ranging from the EU sponsored Urban Pilot Projects in the 1990s to City Challenge, Housing Market Renewal Pathfinders and the Single Regeneration Budget (all in the UK). Paul is a planner by profession having trained at South Bank University. He is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and was an accredited trainer for the British Urban Regeneration Association. (198)
