Mr. Arkaitz Fullaondo

Researcher at Innovation Systems Unit of TECNALIA since 2008, Arkaitz Fullaondo is European mention PhD by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) (Urban Management and Valuations PhD program, 2008), Graduate of Sociology by University of Deusto (2002) and Master of Urban Management by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2004). He has developed research projects at European, national and local level. Nowadays he coordinates the European project “Ulysses” founded by the European Observation Network for Territorial Development and Cohesion (ESPON). Arkaitz has been involved in several projects dealing with innovation, urban, social and environmental issues, for example JAKINBASK (Intelligent Territories, founded by Basque Government), MITKE (Managing the Industrial Territories in the Knowledge Era. Interreg IVC), “Integrating industrial activities in the urban fabric: An innovative territorial development strategy based on Eco-Industrial Parks, Knowledge Economy and Technology”, in collaboration with the School of Architecture Architectural Association of London (AA).
He has previously worked as coordinator of “Immigration, Housing and City” research area in Centre of Land Policy and Valuations of Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). It was in UPC where he developed his PhD project “The logic of residential insertion of foreign immigration in the city. The case of Barcelona”. Also he has been post-doc research fellow in the School of Architecture Architectural Association of London and Guest Researcher in the Amsterdam Institute for Metropolitan and International Development Studies (AMIDSt) of University of Amsterdam.
